Monitor information sharing

I'll be an advocate for active measurement and for sharing of
information between proprietary domains, looking to make the sharing
of monitored information a part of future protocols.  And for
continued research into the extent and characteristics of the edges
of the network (e.g. cellular today, sensors tomorrow).  My
impression is that we are still not very far in our basic approaches
from the client-server philosophies seen for so long in pure
computing, and not reaching out to the distributed computing
potential if we keep information from passing from below the "narrow
waist" to the services above it.
