NSWEB - A HTTP/1.1 Extension to the NS-2 Network Simulator
[last updated: Wednesday, 16-Jul-2008 14:37:47 CEST]
This project aims at analyzing and characterizing network traffic with respect to
persistency properties of large network flows over time at different time scales
and under different aggregation levels, covering both temporal and spatial variability
of network flows. According to Zipf's Law, only a few very large flows contribute
a significant fraction of the overall traffic. Therefore, the analysis concentrates
at very large flows and aims at evaluating their persistency properties. If
very large flows are usually more persistent in time, it is possible to control a
large fraction of the traffic by concentrating on only a small number of large flows.
